Industrial Hydraulic Systems-Theory and Practice, Universal Publishers, USA, 2016

Industrial Hydraulic Stystems

The textbook provides an in-depth coverage of conventional hydraulic systems encompassing fixed displacement pumps, control valves, and actuators as well as the most modern hydraulic systems encompassing more efficient variable-displacement pumps, electro-hydraulic proportional valves and/or servo valves with integrated electronics. The coverage is further supplemented by many typical hydraulic and electro-hydraulic circuits. The details of different types of auxiliary devices such as reservoirs, filters, accumulators and piping have also been described in this book. Topics on hydrostatic transmission (HST), cartridge valves, load sensing pump controls, fluids, filters, and seals are given in detail. Design aspects, installation, and maintenance of hydraulic systems are added to make the book more useful to actual practitioners of hydraulic systems.

The unique feature of this textbook is that all quantities are given in the SI system as well as in the English system of units. This book provides an extensive coverage of fluid power to designers, engineers, technicians, and, students of engineering colleges, polytechnics, and vocational training institutes. This book is designed especially with an academic interest in mind. A large number of numerical examples, design problems, and sections for ‘Test your Knowledge’, end of chapter ‘Multiple Choice Questions’, and ‘Short answer Questions’ are included. This book is intended to provide the most current information available on hydraulic technology.

Pneumatic Controls, WILEY India, 2008

Pneumatic Controls

Pneumatic controls is an introductory textbook designed to provide technical information needed as a foundation for dealing with pneumatic components, circuit diagrams and systems. Educating people to properly use pneumatic power is vitally important as there is a widespread use of pneumatics in industry. Therefore, the book has been designed to teach students, engineers and technicians the ‘why’ and ‘how’ of various operating principles of pneumatic and electro-pneumatic equipment and their controls including computer based controls and maintenance aspects in a simple and powerful way. The aim is to integrate all information including circuit ideas and maintenance aspects of pneumatics at one place in a logical way for the step-by-step learning.

Oil: My Journey Through the World of Hydraulics, Createspace, 2016

The textbook is an autobiography of the oil serving the hydraulic system of an industrial machine. The book narrates the story about the journey of the oil through the world of hydraulics. The book explores the function and properties of the oil, different components of the system, and the diverse roles played by the oil in the successful operation of the machine. It is an attempt to look at the system from a different perspective, with the hope that the readers get a deeper insight into the working of the system in all its might.
